About

My name is William Cotton Jr., but most people know me simply as "Cotton." I am the founder and owner of True Apparel, a brand built on faith, authenticity, and inspiration.

The foundation of every design begins with God. The crown in our logo represents His guidance and blessings, while also symbolizing royalty. I believe that Black women are Queens and Black men are Kings, each created with purpose, value, and greatness within them.

The word "True" is more than just our name—it's our message. It means staying true to yourself, staying true to your values, and remaining true through every challenge and season of life. God created each of us uniquely, and I believe we should embrace who He made us to be rather than trying to become someone else. Be the true version of yourself—the person God intended you to be.

Through True Apparel, my goal is to uplift, encourage, and inspire people from all walks of life to become the best version of themselves. When you're true to yourself and true to others, you contribute to making the world a better place.

One of our featured collections, "Illtown," pays tribute to my hometown of East Orange, New Jersey. "Illtown" is the city's well-known nickname and represents the pride, strength, and close-knit spirit of the community that helped shape who I am today. I don't know about you, but I love my city!

Many of our designs are inspired by my personal life experiences, while others are created simply to make people think, reflect, and see life from a different perspective. Every piece has a story and a purpose behind it.

I could go on and on, but most importantly, I want to thank you for visiting our site. It is my prayer that our designs and the messages behind them inspire you to join the True Movement—and even more importantly, inspire you to stay true to yourself.

Stay True, and God bless.
